Kris Lamans graduated from Grambling University with a degree in Speech Communication, and received his MFA in Motion Picture and Television Production from Lamar University in Texas.
Kris has extensive experience within many aspects of the entertainment industry, including as director/actor (including theatrical productions), singer/songwriter (formerly second tenor with the world-famous Platters, "The Great Pretender" was the first number one pop song for the Platters other hit songs: "My Prayer", "Twilight Time ", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "Harbor Lights" "Enchanted", "Sixteen Tons", and and the hits keep going); former recording artist with RCA records; composer with hundreds of songs in his publishing catalog; is a producer and administrator/fundraiser.
He worked professionally as a high school speech and drama teacher; as Program Director for Lamar University; as Theater Director for the Watts Writers Workshop; and as a News and Weather Anchor for KBMT TV in Beaumont, Texas. In addition to directing and acting in several theatrical productions.
Kris has also starred in the motion pictures, "Melinda," "The Evil Altar," and "One of the Missing."
He is currently busy with several multi-media projects; ICONS USA™ (26 weekly TV shows to air on I TV this March), in pre-production with HEAT ON THE DELTA which he will direct.
He created three companies to spear head all of his projects. Focen Network, Inc. serves as his main holding company. Kris Lamans Productions, LLC produces all the television and film projects. The third company is Pearl Records Group and Filmworks affectionately named after his mother. Kris has two sons - rapstars : 2XL |
